Common Nightingale

2022 : The Common Nightingale is a wonderful bird to have in your backyard. It is so lovely to hear it sing, it really makes your day. On our land, we have only been able to hear a Common Nightingale the first few days after moving in in May.

It is a summer visitor in Portugal, so we do not know if the one we heard only stayed for a few days before reaching its breeding grounds higher North, or if it stayed longer but just stopped singing. Hopefully we will find out more next spring!

2024 : this spring there are 2 Common Nightingales singing on our land and we have seen and photographed one!
