Eurasian Blackbird

Summer 2022 : when we moved in, I was very surprised not to see and Eurasian Blackbird right away. It is a resident species everywhere in Portugal, and it is quite common. After a few weeks, I started to hear alarm calls. I guess breeding season was already over as we did not hear one sing. Since then, we see a male or a female pretty regularly, but they are much more shy that what we are used to. We hope that will change when our veggie garden and more trees and bushes will be in place.
