Iberian Magpie

One of the most famous and sought after bird species in Portugal, the Iberian Magpie is a stunning bird. Here on our land, we have the chance to see them everyday. They explore the land in flocks, most of the time in flocks up to 15 birds, looking for food. We have seen on our fig trees, but also a few times on the Mimosa tree that is right in front of the house! And when quince season comes, it becomes incredible. We have seen up to 200 Iberian Magpies feeding on our quince trees!! And when the light is good, we get to see their fabulous colours. Such a beautiful bird.
